Ainahau Tower vs Princess Wing: Detailed Comparison

Based on my own experience from staying at the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani hotel, let me share my take on “Ainahau Tower vs Princess Wing”.

Views

First, let’s compare the ocean views from each tower.

Princess Wing (10th floor)

Here’s a picture of the view from a Princess Ocean View room in the Princess Wing, which is exclusive to the top floors of the wing.

As you can see, the ocean view is decent, but it’s mostly of the ocean behind the Moana Surfrider hotel.

Ainahau Tower (19th floor)

On the other hand, the Tower Ocean View rooms in the Ainahau Tower offer much better views of the ocean.

Overall, while the Princess Wing does offer an ocean view, the Ainahau Tower has rooms with much better views of the ocean.

Please note that the Ainahau Tower has up to 29 floors, compared to the Princess Wing’s 11 floors.

This means that you are more likely to get a room in the Ainahau Tower that is much higher than the top floor of the Princess Wing.

Please also refer to the pictures below to get a better idea of each view.

Rooms

Though there are some older online posts saying that Princess Wing has not been renovated, it has been renovated recently, as far as I checked.

This is the Princess Wing.

And this one is from the Ainahau Tower.

Yes, they look the same.

This is the bathroom in the Princess Wing, which has a pretty basic, white-themed design.

In comparison, the bathroom in the Ainahau Tower looks a bit more modern and sophisticated with its granite-like countertop, dark mirror frame, and flooring.

Of course, there may still be some differences or outdated features in other parts of the room, such as the sink, toilet, or electrical outlets.

It’s also worth noting that the Ocean View rooms in the Ainahau Tower are slightly smaller than those in the Princess Wing, by about 18 square feet or 2 square meters.

I Recommend Ainahau Tower

As many of you may have already guessed, my recommendation goes to the Ainahau Tower for its stunning views.

I really enjoyed the feeling of openness and height that comes with staying on a higher floor, and surprisingly, the rates for Ainahau Tower rooms are often cheaper than those of the Princess Wing.

Since the towers share the same lobby, pool, and bar, there’s not much difference in terms of facilities.
